Equities Trading Workstation Development

A major broker-dealer was rebuilding its order management and execution management systems and needed a consulting assistance to design and build a combined single stock and program Sales Trader Workstation using the .NET framework.

Approach

The application operating requirements were complex. The application needed to process and display thousands of order status and quote messages per second, and recover session information in the event a user logged on to another desktop. The effort included:

• Capturing initial requirements for trading desktop display and performance

• Building a model solution to prove the architecture and message processing abilities

• Developing iterative releases to add functionality and transition to a production application

   

A Markets Technology & Compliance consultant led a combined team of consultants and client developers to design and build the solution.

Results

The solution was developed on time and within budget, and deployed to trader desktops as a tool for entering orders and monitoring execution status from the firm's new OMS and EMS.
