Commercial Real Estate Asset Management Platform

A major bank and holder of commercial real estate debt sought to consolidate its debt and equity positions on a single platform, but found no suitable vendor product capable of supporting the complex deal structures within its portfolio. The client engaged Markets Technology & Compliance to define and develop single platform for managing its holdings.

Approach

MTC used its adaptive and collaborative development methodology to build a platform capable of accommodating unique and varied deal structures while adding more advanced functionality. Applying an adapted agile development approach, our on-site development team:

• Outlined requirements, identifying the elements with the greatest influence on solution architecture.

• Using a .NET framework, developed and refined a flexible object model capable of accommodating unique deal structures

• Developed an intuitive, robust deal navigation and display interface, enabling multi-dimensional drilldowns of deals elements

• Enabled dynamic key calculation assumptions

• Delivered initial reporting functionality for a broad user base, and enabling progressively complex

  asset management functionality in development iterations

   

Results

The commercial real estate asset management platform developed by Katahdin Solutions was widely welcomed as executive management, underwriters and asset managers all gained an up-to-the minute access of common information for managing their deal portfolio. Paper reports and multiple spreadsheets were eliminated, and additional processing features are being continually added by the MTC team.
