Enterprise Compliance Data Warehouse Standup

A diversified financial services firm commenced an aggressive program to enable unified data acquisition and management capability for legal, compliance, and reporting functions across all major business lines, including broker-dealer, retail brokerage, and wealth management. The program needed a leader to define the technical effort and manage the program through its onset.

 

Approach

A Markets Technology & Compliance consultant assumed an interim, six-month leadership role. Our consultant defined program objectives, and structured a program operating model. He assessed team’s capabilities, made adjustments as needed, and defined operating processes for enabling multiple on-shore and offshore consulting teams, business groups, and information technology teams to progress toward common goals. He also chaired an operating leadership committee to steer the program and balance initiative resources in a prioritized approach.

 

Results

The initiative gained immediate momentum, and delivered new compliance models from centralized, reliable data while reducing overall data acquisition costs. The interim leader helped select a pemanent hire and transitioned responsibilities after six months. The data warehousing program continues to deliver valuable, unified, complex analytics to legal, compliance, and risk management business units across the firm.
